1996 Jagyar XJS Convertible
The Jaguar XJS is a luxury grand tourer manufactured and marketed by British car manufacturer Jaguar Cars from 1975 to 1996, in coupe and full convertible bodystyles. The XJS was relaunched in its final form in May 1991 under Ford Motor Company's new ownership. The car received a new 4.0-litre version of the AJ6 straight-six engine. In April 1994, substantial revisions were made to the 4.0-litre 6 cylinder, which was now equipped with coil-on-plug ignition. In 1995, the final specification changes were made and the car was referred to as the Celebration model, to celebrate the 60th year of Jaguar Cars. Celebration cars feature diamond turned wheels, Jaguar embossed seats, and a wooden steering wheel.
This is a final-year example of the legendary Jaguar XJS, specifically the Celebration Edition, produced to mark the end of a 21-year production run. With just 52k miles, it’s a low-mileage, collector-worthy specimen that combines classic British luxury with one of the most elegant convertible designs of the 1990s. It is a 3 owner car with a clean CARFAX. Finished in iconic British Racing Green, the paintwork is deep and lustrous, reflecting the Jaguar heritage. The chrome trim, distinctive headlamps, and color-matched bumpers are in excellent condition. As a Celebration Edition, it features special badging, diamond-turned alloy wheels, and a tan power-operated soft top that complements the paint perfectly.
The cabin is upholstered in supple tan leather with contrast piping, paired with real burl walnut veneer on the dash, center console, and door caps. The Celebration Edition includes embossed Jaguar “leaper” logos on the headrests, leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood inlay, and chrome gear selector surround — all exclusive to this final edition. With only 52k miles, the interior shows minimal wear and retains its original, understated British elegance.
