1969 MGB

The MGB is a two-door sports car manufactured and marketed from 1962 until 1980 by the British Motor Corporation later the Austin-Morris division of British Leyland, as a four-cylinder, soft-top sports car. It was announced and its details first published on 19 September 1962. The MGB was one of the first cars to feature controlled crumple zones designed to protect the driver and passenger in a 30 mph impact with an immovable barrier (200 ton). 
The roadster was the first of the MGB range to be produced. The body was a pure two-seater; a small rear seat was a rare option at one point. By making better use of space the MGB was able to offer more passenger and luggage accommodation than the earlier MGA while being 3 in shorter overall. The suspension was also softer, giving a smoother ride, and the larger engine gave a slightly higher top speed.
This MGB roadster is one of the chrome bumper cars that were delivered into the US market before the full impact rubber bumpers were required in 1974. This B roadster also has the dual SU carbs and factory oil cooler that were standard equipment ending in this model year. Original body panels have excellent fit with tight closing doors and hatch. The chrome trim and bumpers are in excellent shape. The interior of this MGB has original door panels, seats, and uncracked dash all in excellent condition. It has an original factory chrome wire wheels, luggage rack, tonneau cover, and a recent convertible top. It also has new tires and Blue Tooth radio. A weber carb conversion has been fitted for easier cold starts and more performance. We sold this car over 15 years ago and have serviced it in our shop for the local owners. The engine starts easily, and pulls strongly without smoke or odd noises. It shifts up and down through all of the gears with no problems. The car comes with shop manual , original jack & hammer.
