1965 Austin Healey 3000 MKIII Phase 2
The 3000 sports convertible Mark III was announced in 1964. Upgrades included 136 bhp to 150 bhp increase due to a new higher lift camshaft. SU HD8 carburettors replaced HS6 units increasing the choke size from 1.75 to 2 inches. Power-assisted braking became standard instead of optional. The new display included the speedometer and tachometer directly in front of the driver. The Mark III BJ8 remained in production until the end of 1967 when manufacture of the Austin-Healey 3000 ceased production.
This big Healey is a most popular color of Healey Blue with white coves and dark blue leather interior. It is a matching number car with with a Heritage Trust Certificate. The car was purchased in 10 years ago from a long term owner in Minnesota, who had the car since 1992. It was professionally maintained by a British car specialist while it was in his possession. There are repair invoices dating back to 2007 and some file notes back to 1992. This Healey is equipped with 4 speed trans with overdrive, wire wheels, Moto-Lita wood steering wheel, blue convertible top, and matching boot cover. The car is very original in appearance with out modifications that are normally quite common. It is an excellent driver quality car that would do well in local shows or for Cars & Coffee events.
